Wath Brow Hornets can get back into action tomorrow when they resume their National League Premier Division programme with a home fixture.
Last Saturday’s trip to York Acorn had been postponed by mutual agreement and is to be played later in the season.
Tomorrow the Hornets entertain Wigan St Judes with both sides next to each other in the table.
The Brow lie sixth two points and a place better off than their Wigan visitors, and from a game less.
Highlight in Division One is the west Cumbrian derby between Kells and Egremont Rangers.
Kells went back to the top of the table last week after a win over Leigh Miners Rangers, but also courtesy of Egremont who beat the previous leaders Dewsbury Celtic at Gillfoot.
It sets up an intriguing clash with Kells keen to stay top and avenge the opening day defeat at Egremont, while Rangers have the serious incentive of beating the League leaders on successive weeks.
In the Cumbria Conference there are only three games scheduled as two games have been moved to August 15 by mutual agreement – Ellenborough v Dalton and Seaton v Hindpool.
There’s a south Cumbrian derby with Barrow Island hosting Millom while in west Cumbria Distington entertain Maryport.
The other game is in the south of the county with Ulverston playing hosts to Hensingham.
There’s only one game programme in the Cumbria Men’s League in which Dalton A entertain Egremont A tomorrow.
For our chat this week we have Ellenborough coach Paul Gorge, contemplating a free weekend before a rare Friday night game next weekend against Distington.
Paul talks to John Walsh below about the season so far for Elbra, the golden days of the club and their efforts to build on their Mini Rangers over the coming years.
