A man has had his van stolen while queuing in Greggs this morning.
The white van was taken at around 6am today in Penrith.
It was parked directly outside the Greggs branch on Devonshire Street.
The thief drove off in the direction of King Street.
A witness said: “There was a huge screeching of tyres and then I heard someone shouting – I had no idea what was going on. A police van arrived quickly afterwards and went in the direction of the way the van went.
“I’m quite shaken by how quickly it happened.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
It is understood the van was later recovered in Shap.
