Restoration work has been completed on Whitehaven’s cenotaph in time for this year’s Remembrance Sunday service.
Through a collaborative funding effort by Cumberland Council and Whitehaven Town Council, Stone Central stonemasons was commissioned to undertake the careful restoration process of the Castle Park monument.
The work included steam cleaning, repointing, and the restoration of the monument’s structure.
The newly refurbished cenotaph will be the central point of Whitehaven’s Remembrance Sunday service which takes place on Sunday, November 10 at 11am.
