Kells handed out their annual awards with three of the recipients saying their goodbyes after turning professional.
Dominic Wear, who has joined Workington Town, has just returned from a successful tour of Australia with the England Community Lions, and he was the main winner.
As well as the coveted Players’ Player, he also won the award for Most Valuable Player and shared the Sponsors’ Player of the Year.

That last one was shared with Clarke Chambers who is heading off to the Orus Rec next season after turning pro with Whitehaven.
The third Kells player turning pro is also going to Whitehaven and Karl Garner won the award for most dedicated player.

Ryan Watson and Lewis Smith shared the first team coaches player; Ashton Sice was the young player; Casey Chambers was referees player; Daniel Starkie, most improved player; Jonathan Wignall and Lee Rutherford shared the award for Clubman of the Year; Richard Marr was the A team coaches player and also the A team players’ player.

Kells were relegated from the National Conference Premier Division last season and will be hoping the loss of their players to the pro ranks will not impact on their efforts to bounce back from Division One.

The respective awards were presented by first team coach Peter Smith and the A team coach Jonathan Wignall.
