Several Lake District hotels have been named among the best venues in England for weddings.
Windermere’s Cragwood Country House, Brierywood Country House and Merewood Country House, plus Broadoaks Country House Hotel at Troutbeck and Lindeth Howe at Bowness appeared in the hotel category of the The Wedding Industry Awards.
Dalston Hall, near Carlisle, is named in the Historic Building category and Holesfoot in the Eden Valley won the wedding barn category.
Stacey Rothera, hotel manager at Cragwood, said: “This award is a testament to the incredible dedication and passion of our team.
“From our chefs crafting delicious menus to our grounds team maintaining the stunning gardens, every single person plays a part in making Cragwood such a special place for couples to start their married life.”
Other Cumbrian businesses named in the North West list are Wolf & Raven Photography, based in Dalton-in-Furness, tailor HL Creations in Kendal and videographer Jay Gilmour, of Brampton.
The businesses will now represent the North West at the prestigious event held in London in January, competing for the coveted title of Best Wedding Venue – Hotel in England.
