A 24-hour gym is set to open its doors in Kendal for the first time next month.

PureGym will open its first Cumbrian facility on Queen Katherine’s Road on December 20.

It operates over 370 gyms across the UK.

The 5,000sq ft gym will feature hundreds of pieces of equipment, classes, a free weights area and personal trainers.

A PureGym spokesman said: “We are excited to be expanding our presence with a new gym in Kendal. We can’t wait to welcome members through the doors of PureGym Kendal.”

The gym is being opened in part of a former vehicle workshop. Part of the building recently opened as a branch of bakers Greggs.

The gym will open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

It will have 23 parking spaces and 10 bike parking spaces.

The site will be accessed from Queen Katherine’s Avenue and a via a new pedestrian access from Appleby Road that was formed as part of the Greggs approval.
