Organisers of next year’s Keswick Mountain Festival have released a programme for the three-day event, with names from the world of outdoor adventure, sports broadcasting and journalism, photography, and stand-up comedy.
The festival will run from May 16 to May 18, with its main base in Crow Park on the shore of Derwentwater.
Founded in 2007, the event brings thousands of visitors to Keswick for a weekend of outdoor sports and activities, open air live music, speakers, exhibitors and food and drink, all with a backdrop of the famous Cumbrian fells and lakes.
The Festival Village in Crow Park will be the main hub at KMF and will host all of the speaker sessions in the Tent Talks tent.
Those making an appearance include:
- Clare Tomlinson, one of the UK’s most experienced sports broadcasters, who joined Sky Sports News in 1998 and was the first female touchline reporter in football.
- David Miller, an ultra-running photographer who captured the iconic image of Jasmin Paris at the 2024 Barkley Marathons.
- Jamie Aarons, who in 2023 set a new record for scaling all of Scotland’s Munros.
- David Walsh, UK Journalist of the Year in 2012 for his work in helping to uncover the truth about the then seven-time winner of the Tour de France, Lance Armstrong.
- Amber Keegan, who swam the English Channel in under nine hours (for Surfers Against Sewage), and founded Athlete Interactions, a non-profit that supports female athletes’ mental health.
- Nick Ray, an outdoor polymath who lives with treatment resistant depression and is a vocal advocate for mental health and suicide prevention.
- Hetty Kingston, an adventurer and outdoor enthusiast, known for her love of off-road cycling, type two fun, and exploring new trails – often with her one-year-old twins in tow.
- James Peach, the marketing brain behind brands like Uber, Vinted, and Innocent Drinks, and also an adventurer who has cycled 41,000 km around the world, hiked across Argentina, Norway and Central America, and organised the first triathlon of the entire UK.
- Jo Moseley, the first woman to stand up paddleboard 162 miles coast to coast, at the age of 54, who is encouraging other women to age adventurously.
- Andy Dickinson, a writer, performer and producer, who will perform his one man stand-up comedy show ‘Everest Mallory 24 (With Stanley)’.
- Keri Wallace, a running guide and author, and the founder of ‘Girls on Hills’, who will introduce her book ‘Running Challenges’, with a focus on the importance of personalising, owning or investing in a running challenge to create the most meaningful experience.
- ·Tommy Lewis, an ultra-athlete, run coach, general outdoor enthusiast and founder of That’s Runnable, who promotes a laid-back approach to running and welcoming everyone to join the adventure.
Everyone who has bought a place on a sports or outdoor event, or a festival ticket, will be able to attend speaker sessions in the Festival Village, and stay on site after 5pm for the evening entertainment. The live music line-up will be announced in the coming weeks.
