Double for Flimby’s Albert Hayton at winter shows

Albert Hayton completed a double in Workington Victoria show for young cocks.

Flimby fancier Albert Hayton has completed a double at Workington Victoria’s series of winter shows in the Union Jack Club.

Albert won the first show of the season for old cocks and followed up on Friday by winning the class of young cocks.

It was a good night for him, too, as he also picked up tickets for third and sixth.

Ernie McCance was the judge casting his eyes over the 53 entries and his tickets were awarded to: 1, 3, 6, A. Hayton; 2, 7, A. Bromley and co; 4, Dolan and daughter; 6, McLuckie bros; 8, N. Semple.

Specials were provided by Ernie and sponsors Northern Trophies, and next Friday’s show is for young hens.

Flimby HS show for young cocks had 44 entries and they were judged by Neil Buchanan.

He gave tickets to: 1, 3, Bromley and co; 2, 6, 8, McLuckie bros; 4, 5, R. McAvoy; 7, Williams and Hadfield.

There were judge’s special for first and second while Wednesday’s show will be for young hens.
