The second Milnthorpe Tractor Trundle resulted in a variety of illuminated vehicles take part in a route which straddled the Cumbria/ Lancashire border.
From Milnthorpe the route included Arnside, Silverdale, Carnforth, Burton and Holme raising money for NFU Mutual’s Yellow Wellies appeal.
Rising concern over the continuing high level of fatal and life-changing injury accidents on farms prompted the creation of a charitable foundation to help all farmers work more safely.
The foundation works closely with farmers, the farming unions and farming organisations, including the Farm Safety Partnerships of England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, to help reduce the toll of fatal and serious injury accidents.
The foundation’s Yellow Wellies campaign specifically targets young farmers aged 16 to 40.
“We had 24 tractors for the trundle and managed to raise £890 from donations on the night and from Just Giving,” Greg Knight of the organising group said. “I’d like to thank everyone who took part and who came out to watch us all and also thank Michelle from the Food House in Milnthorpe for feeding us on our return.”
The third event will be held on December 6 2025.
