Over 3,000 people enjoyed a magical LED drum parade in a Lake District town.

Keswick’s streets were aglow with festive cheer on Monday at the event, hosted by Lake District Hotels.

Headlined by the world-renowned SPARK! LED drummers, the parade began in Keswick’s Market Square with a dazzling performance by the group.

They were joined by local street performers Bjamba, Keswick dance groups MG Dance Academy and Janet Jones Dance School, and children from Keswick Scouts.

Essential support from Keswick Rotary Club and Keswick Lions ensured the event ran smoothly.

The procession went through the town centre towards Hope Park, captivating onlookers with surprise performances along the way.

Proceeds from the evening were donated to Keswick Youth Centre Services, the group’s chosen Charity of the Year for 2024.

KYCS representatives joined the parade, with children collecting donations along the route.

Together with mulled wine sales from the group’s town centre hotels – Inn on the Square, the Skiddaw Hotel, and the King’s Arms – the event raised over £1,000, adding to a total of more than £5,000 raised by the hotel group for KYCS so far.

Dani Hope, director of Lake District Hotels, said: “I’m absolutely over the moon with how the LED Drumming Parade turned out.

“It was amazing to see so many people come together to make it a success – everyone from the performers and volunteers to the spectators who turned up on the night.

“The atmosphere in Keswick was incredible, with lights, music, and so much energy filling the streets.

“We’re so grateful for the support of everyone who helped bring this event to life. It’s also brilliant to know we’ve been able to raise awareness and funds for KYCS, a cause that’s so important to our community.”
