A Workington cinema is getting ready to screen 76-minute showings of cat videos over the weekend.
Parkway Cinema is playing host to Cat Video Fest – a film made up of internet cat videos that was created to raise money for cat charities across the world.
Cinema-goers who attend one of the four showings taking place this weekend will be helping to raise money for West Cumbria Cats Rehab, who will receive 10 per cent of proceeds from ticket sales.
The Cumbrian charity is run entirely by volunteers and provides essential care and shelter to rescue cats and cats in need with an overall goal of finding each cat a forever home.
Cat-themed cocktails including The Meowgarita and The Cat That Got The Cream will also be on offer over the weekend to celebrate the film.

Martin Harvey, general manager at Parkway Cinema Workington, said: “We’re thrilled to bring Cat Video Fest to Workington and are even more excited to support West Cumbria Cats Rehab in such a fun way – with over an hour of cat clips on the big screen.”
American film director Will Braden, who is the creative mind behind Cat Video Fest, scours through countless hours of unique submissions, internet memes, music videos, and viral videos every year to put together the latest and best cat videos the world has to offer.
It first released in 2019 and has seen major success in Denmark, Norway, Australia and New Zealand. The film has now made its way to the UK, and Parkway Cinema are the first to bring it to Cumbria.
Cat Video Fest will be shown today, Saturday January 18 and tomorrow, Sunday January 19, at 1pm and 6pm on both days.
