A man has been seriously injured in an assault in Wigton.
Cumbria police said the man suffered a significant leg injury as a result of the incident, believed to have happened in the vicinity of Kirkland Road.
The injured man was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition.
Two men, one aged 27 and the other aged 30, from Cumbria have been arrested in connection with the incident.
They remain in police custody.
