A 62-year-old mountain biker dislocated his shoulder after being thrown over his handlebars.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team and the North West Ambulance Service were called to Ullock Pike on Friday July 10 at around 8.50pm.
The man was descending the narrow trail from Ullock Pike, above the Ravenstone Hotel, when his bike’s front wheel slipped.
He was thrown over the handlebars and landed at speed on the slope below.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said: “On arrival the team administered strong analgesia to help relieve the man’s tremendous pain and discomfort.”
He was stretchered down to the road where an ambulance took him to Carlisle’s Cumberland Infirmary.
