Mattresses have been dumped in the South Cumbrian countryside.
The blue mattresses were dumped near the Strickland Arms in Sizergh last weekend, Westmorland & Furness Council said.
The authority has appealed for witnesses and information about the fly-tipping to come forward.
It said: “Did you see a vehicle carrying these mattresses or maybe you noticed them being removed from a property near you?
“Did someone pay for them to be taken away by a waste carrier or were they removed as part of a new mattress delivery?
“We can issue fixed penalty notices where we have evidence to suspect a fly-tipper.
“Prosecution for fly-tipping carries a fine of up to £95,000 – unlimited if taken through the crown court – or an offender can be sent to prison or have their vehicle seized.”
