Coffee chain Starbucks is set to return to Carlisle city centre after seven years.
A planning application has been approved for it to overhaul the former Gloria Jean’s Coffees and a next-door vacant unit on Scotch Street.
Its application included a new shopfront and signs.
The units form part of the exterior of the Lanes Shopping Centre.
The proposals were submitted in January and, when contacted for confirmation at the time, a spokesman for Starbucks said that the company did not comment on planning applications.
