Deer Orchard, the oldest Sunday League side in the county, are the newest winners.
The Cockermouth side, founded 62 years ago, won the West Cumberland Sunday League’s President’s Cup.
They beat Thornhill 4-2 on Workington’s Borough Park and the season could even get better.
If they beat Bluebell next Sunday they will be crowned Premier League champions.
Orchard had never won the President’s Cup and have never won a Premier League title in all their years contesting the Workington Sunday League.
They had made a slow start in this final and it was against the run of play when they went ahead after 30 minutes.
Sam Wright, out on the left, on halfway cut in 20 yards out to take on the defender before striking a superb shot on the run beyond the Thornhill keeper.
The equaliser came in the second minute of added time when Rob Davidson gave Thornhill a lift ahead of their return to the dressing room.
It was Orchard who came back out fired up and on 51 minutes top scorer Luke Graham seized on a mistake before sending a thunderous strike into the net.
Graham made it 3-1 in the 65th minute from a highly contested penalty and Orchard went on to make it 4-1.
It was Graham, who has scored freely for Orchard and County League side Cockermouth who completed his hat trick in the 85th minute.
There was late consolation for Thornhill when Davidson added their second in the 88th minute.
Orchard manager Gary Horsley said: “it was a great night for us but the lads got a roasting at half time as they needed to up their game.
“Thornhill are a good side and kept going to the end. I really hope they go on and win promotion from the First Division.”
