A wildfire that has burned continuously since Monday will be allowed to continue.
Firefighters were called to the blaze, on open ground between Maulds Meaburn and Orton, in the early hours of Monday.
Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service said: “Our crews are monitoring the fire. We have agreed a plan with the Environment Agency to let the fire burn to minimise the risk to the environment, working with the landowner and crews.”
