A West Cumbrian actor is planning to take his one-man show to the Edinburgh Festival.
Billy Walker, of Seaton, near Workington, needs to raise the cash to get his show staged at the internationally renowned event this year and is hoping the Cumbrian community will rally round.
Billy wants to take Joan Collins Blocked Me On Twitter to the festival. The show is currently in development and he plans to take it to Hollywood for a preview.
He said: “Its a fleabag-inspired, one-man, theatrical extravaganza. This one hour spectacular spotlights Theodore Emory Jones, one of England’s finest thespian exports (in his opinion), who arrives in Hollywood with the sole burning desire of landing a starring role in the Dynasty reboot.
“Armed with a Burberry steamer trunk filled with enough biscuits to sink the Cutty Sark, a 10×8 signed picture of Patricia Routledge, and a theatrical agent whose celebrity client list includes Driving School’s Maureen Rees and David Van Day of Dollar fame; he is determined to spill (the) tea on anyone (and everyone) who stands in his way.”
Billy is looking to raise around £6,000 for the three-week Edinburgh run.
He has just won Best Featured Performance at the Stage Raw Theatre Awards 2025 for his portrayal of The Boss in the Playhouse West Production of Jason Milligan’s Men in Suits.
He won Best Actor at the California Independent Film Festival in 2019 for his portrayal of Max in film Night Shift and picked up Best Proof of Concept at the Houston Comedy Festival in 2023 for Linda Evans is my Spirit Animal, a film he wrote, produced, directed and starred in.
