A South Cumbrian home interiors store is set to close.

Fab Home Interiors intends to shut its Kendal branch once it has sold off the remaining £1 million-worth of stock.

The decision to close the store, at Plantation Bridge on the A591 between Kendal and Staveley, was made after careful consideration of market conditions its owners said.

However, they do plan to open another branch in the area.

Scott Jones, co-owner, said: “This decision was not made lightly, and we appreciate the relationships we have built with the community.

“We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our customers at the Kendal site for their unwavering support over the years.”

“We have over £1m-worth of stock. We have no official closing date. It will be once we have sold everything, which may take a few months. There are a lot of things to sell!”

The building has been put up for sale.

Scott added: “Hopefully in the next few months, when we close, we will have a buyer for the building.”

Fab Home Interiors said it remained committed to serving customers at its other locations in Bowness, Preston, Blackpool, and its online platform. It added that an announcement would be made soon about a new location in the Kendal area.
