A charity run by a Lake District timeshare scheme has donated £500 to the Calvert Trust.

Local retired businessman and former mayor of Keswick, Alan Dunn is a trustee of the The Keswick Bridge (Lake District) Appeal and visited the Calvert Trust, near Keswick, to make the donation.

The Keswick Bridge Appeal is a charity to which visitors to the Keswick Bridge timeshare resort can contribute. The appeal enables visitors to give something back to the local community in return for the enjoyment and help they have experienced from the Lake District and its people.

Calvert Trust community fundraising officer, Julia Metcalf said: “Thank you to Alan and all at The Keswick Bridge Appeal for the whopping £500 donation they gave us in support of our Enabling Adventure Fund, presented to us by Alan himself.

“These vital funds will enable more people with disabilities experience the life-enhancing courses we have to offer and to achieve things that they never thought would be possible.”

The team at the Lake District Calvert Trust are in full swing welcoming over 3,000 people throughout 2025 to experience accessible adventure around the Lake District.

The Keswick Bridge Appeal money will go into the Enabling Adventure Fund – a bursary pot that groups, families and individuals can apply to, to help offset the cost of their much-needed break at this highly specialised outdoor adventure centre.
