A Lake District hotel is teaming up with a county spirits firm to champion Cumbria’s finest produce.

The Skiddaw Hotel in Keswick and Pennington Spirits of Ulverston is hosting the celebration of local collaboration and low food miles next month.

Part of the Skiddaw Hotel’s Dining Club, A Spirited Evening: A Journey with Pennington Spirits will see guests enjoy a carefully curated four-course menu from head chef Bobby Fillingham, and each dish accompanied with a drink pairing made using Pennington’s small-batch, Lake District-inspired spirits.

Pennington Spirits will share the stories behind each spirit, giving guests a behind-the-scenes look at how traditional distilling techniques and inventive recipes come together.

Bobby said: “We’re incredibly proud to work with like-minded local producers who care deeply about quality and sustainability.

“Bringing Pennington Spirits into our kitchen feels natural – it’s about coming together, reducing food miles, and showing our guests the richness of what’s right here on our doorstep.”

The event takes place on Wednesday, May 28 at 6.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £55 per person for non-members, with a 10% discount for Skiddaw Hotel Dining Club members

The price includes a welcome cocktail, a four course meal, four cocktail tasters, and tea, coffee, and petit four.
