Police are asking for people to come forward if two men were in their neighbourhood asking for scrap metal.
Several burglaries have taken place in the Ponsonby and Bootle area from outhouses and garages. Tools have been taken.
It was reported that a suspicious white flatbed/van had been seen in the areas days before the burglaries, with two men requesting scrap metal.
Detectives are requesting any sightings to be reported to them, particularly if there has been any CCTV captured of the vehicle.
