Yoga will be held in Cumbria’s parks from next month.

Charity Cumbria Yoga Foundation is launching the new series of outdoor yoga sessions in parks in Kendal, Cockermouth, Ulverston, Carlisle and Askham.

The one-hour classes are open to all levels of experience and are designed to make the benefits of yoga more inclusive, welcoming, and accessible to communities across Cumbria or as a mindful activity for visitors this summer, said the foundation.

Caroline Robinson, of the foundation, said: “Our aim is to create a supportive space where people from all walks of life can experience the physical, emotional and social benefits of yoga.

“Bringing people together in these beautiful outdoor settings supports not only individual wellbeing, but a sense of community and connection.”

Tickets are £8 full price and £4 concessions, with reduced rates available for students, those on low incomes, single-adult households, and low income individuals over 65. Each full-price ticket includes a ‘pay it forward’ contribution, helping fund free places for those facing financial or health-related barriers.

Sessions begin in May 2025 and run throughout the summer. For more information, visit cumbriayogafoundation.org/yogainthepark
