Former South Cumbrian Mercedes showroom for sale with £1.35m price tag

A former South Cumbrian car dealership’s building is for sale with a £1.35 million price tag.

The Mercedes Benz of South Lakes premises in Ulverston is being marketed by Peill & Company on behalf of Marshall Motor Group.

The former railway goods shed is a listed building and was converted to a car showroom and workshop in the late 1980s.

The property is on a site of 1.13 acres with buildings totalling over 11,000sq ft, plus external vehicle sales and display areas.

It was originally built as a goods store and house for the Furness Railway Company in 1854, and is next to Ulverston Railway Station.

Simon Adams, managing director of Peill & Company who is dealing with the sale, said: “We are pleased to be bringing the site to the open market as the availability of a freehold in this location is rare, and the property would suit a range of occupiers.

“We have already had interest from owner occupiers and investors looking to split the property into smaller units.

“The building would suit a range of occupiers including trade counter, showroom, offices, workshop or leisure, subject to any consents being received.”

Marshall Motor Group represents 25 manufacturers over a network of 138 dealerships in 34 counties; they continue their representation of Mercedes in the north west with dealerships in Blackpool, Preston, Blackburn & Bolton.
