Two men have been arrested after a number of thefts in a popular Lake District village.
Eden Police said officers from its response policing team were called on Saturday, May 24, following reports of a man suspected of shoplifting in Pooley Bridge earlier that day, who had returned to the premises and was abusing staff.
Officers stopped a man in his 50s in the area and carried out a search. He was arrested on suspicion of theft, attempted theft and a public order offence.
Further enquiries by offices identified the man as being linked to a previous shed burglary, along with a second man.
The second man, also in his 50s, was found and detained by officers on Sunday, May 25, following a search of his vehicle.
He was arrested on suspicion of burglary, shoplifting and theft.
Inspector Mo Bibby, of Eden Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Our response teams here at Eden are determined to act swiftly and robustly against those who target local businesses and residents in Eden.”
