A charity bike ride to raise funds for Cumbria’s BEEP Doctors got off to a flying start at the weekend.
Timber firm A.W. Jenkinson, is a proud sponsor of the BEEP Doctors Charity Ride, which embarked from Penrith Truckstop – part of the A.W. Jenkinson group – on Saturday at 9am.
A spokesman said for the event: “This event is more than just a ride – it’s a celebration of 30 years of life-saving work by the BEEP Doctors.
“Over the course of five days, the riders, including Dr Theo Weston, MBE, aimed to cover 260 miles around the perimeter of Cumbria, raising crucial funds to support the charity’s emergency medical care services in 2025-26.”
The event saw them the team travel through the Eden Valley, into Kendal, through Ulverston and Broughton-in-Furness before dropping into Gosforth and onto the coast before making the ride back to Penrith.
The team faced everything from wind, rain and hills – but conquered it all in the name of saving lives in Cumbria.
It also marks the fifth annual cycle ride the group has undertaken around Cumbria to raise money for BEEP Doctors.
