
A worker at Muncaster Castle has won a prestigious national tourism award.
Hannah Clapp was given the gold award in the Unsung Hero category of the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2025 finals.
Hannah, head of experiences at the Cumbrian castle, was nominated for the award forgoing above and beyond in her role.
The national recognition follows her earlier success at the 2024 Cumbria Tourism Awards, where she won the regional Unsung Hero title and secured her place in the VisitEngland finals.

She said: “I am absolutely delighted that all the hard work we put in at Muncaster has been recognised at a national level in the tourism Oscars! I could not be
happier.
“It is such an exciting time to be at Muncaster and a huge thank you to everyone for their support.”
The Quiet Site at Ullswater won silver in the Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable Tourism category.
