Whitehaven & Workington MP Josh MacAlister is due to meet with the administrators of Chapel Bank Engineering today.
Chapel Bank, in Workington, shut its doors for the final time on Friday, June 6, resulting in the loss of around 150 jobs.
Mr MacAlister said he had spoken to Workington Engineering, which ran the site on Curwen Road, yesterday and was due to meet administrators Leonard Curtis today to discuss issues including National Insurance and pension contributions.
A drop-in session was held at the JobCentre last Wednesday for people affected and Mr MacAlister said his office had been approached by workers for help.
He encouraged people to come forward if they needed help.
