Roxy with her new owners

A dog who had spent over 500 days at a rescue centre has found her new home.

Roxy was left with Animal Concern Cumbria in January 2024 – and the charity asked Cumbria Crack to issue an appeal earlier this month as her forever home had still not been found.

The four-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross Rottweiler had had a few home trials, but they had never quite worked out.

Now, thanks to the Cumbria Crack appeal and Millcroft Veterinary Group, she has found her new owners after 510 days.

Animal Concern Cumbria said: “We’re shedding happy tears as we say goodbye to our beautiful Roxy, who has finally been rehomed.

“Roxy stole all our hearts during her time with us, and we are over the moon that she’s now starting her new chapter with a loving family who have completely fallen for her.

“Thank you to her amazing adopters – not only for seeing how special she is, but also for being so understanding and committed to helping her settle in and work through her little quirks after such a long time in kennels.”

“We’ll miss Roxy dearly, but we couldn’t be happier to see her off to a life filled with love, cuddles, and adventure. Go live your best life, Roxy – you deserve it!”
