Lake District town’s pizzeria returns to its roots

A Lake District pizzeria has reopened and brought back to its roots.

LB’s Pizza House in Keswick has reopened in the town’s Kings Arms Courtyard and its original 1980s logo has made a return too.

The restaurant originally opened as Loose Box Pizzeria in 1985 in what were the former the stables of a coaching inn.

It became LB’s Pizza House during a 2006 refurbishment.

The venue closed in 2020 due to Covid-19.

Now owner Dani Hope has revived the restaurant with a nod to its heritage, including the return of the original logo of a comedy horse – not a donkey as many people think – carrying pizza and wine.

Dani said: “It’s great to bring LB’s back to life. This place has been part of so many family memories in Keswick. We’ve updated our menu, we’ve refreshed the restaurant and it feels like there is a fresh vigour for the place.”
