Only two games in the West Cumbria Mixed Triples League took place last week as all of the others were postponed because of bad weather.

Maryport were one of the teams lucky enough to play and won 9-0 away against Whitehaven B to go to the top of the table. In the other game which was played Seascale won 7-2 at home against Harris Park B.

League standings (games played and points): Maryport 7-48, Workington B 5-35, Whitehaven A 5-34, Seascale 7-33, Workington A 5-29, Harris Park A 6-26, Wigton 5-25, Cleator Moor 6-24, Croft 6-24, Harris Park B 7-23, Seaton 6-22, Vulcan Park 6-21, Egremont 6-18, Whitehaven B 7-16.

West Cumbria Fours League

Because of bad weather only one game took place last Friday, between Whitehaven A and Vulcan Park. The result was a 5-2 win for Whitehaven A.

League standings (games played and points): Workington A 8-49, Cleator Moor 8-37, Whitehaven A 8-37, Fitz Park 8-35, Seaton 8-26, Maryport 8-22, Whitehaven B 7-15, Vulcan Park 10-17, Workington B 8-14.

  • Your correspondent has been reliably informed that Cockermouth’s Harris Park will be applying to rejoin the league next year. As founder members of the league it was a sad day when they withdrew a few years ago and their return will, no doubt, be welcomed by all other clubs in the league.
