Workington Town has thanked Gary Murdock for his work at the club, following his resignation on Friday.
Interim chairman Graeme Peers said: “On behalf of the board and staff at the club we would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Gary for the work he has done helping to solidify the club on and off the field since June 2022 onwards and the many projects he drove.
He was instrumental in setting up the successful Workington Town Ladies RLFC team and a key member in the evolution of the Workington Town Women FC team and the thriving Workington Town Community Trust.
“He successfully oversaw the development of matchday facilities and the improvement of our revenue streams.
“Latterly he’s been an important Town representative on the Cumberland Sports Village stadium plans and ensuring Workington Town head into a new exciting era in a strong position.
“We all wish him well for the future.”
