Finalists revealed in bowls Knock-Out Cup

In the Knock-Out Cup in the West Cumbria Bowls League, the finalists will be Workington A and Seaton.

The recently played semi-finals saw Workington A defeat Whitehaven A 5-4 while in an equally close contest Seaton defeated Wigton 5-4.

At the time of writing, the date and venue for the final are yet to be arranged.

Results of league matches played on 22 July: Maryport 7, Harris Park B 2; Harris Park A 5, Workington A 4; Seaton 5, Wigton 4; Vulcan Park 9, Egremont 0; Whitehaven B 2, Cleator Moor 7; Seascale 4, Whitehaven A 5; Workington B 5, Croft 4.

Maryport are now 14 points clear at the top of the table, but second placed Whitehaven A have two games in hand over them and the two teams are scheduled to clash on August 19.

League standings (Games played and points) as at 29 July: Maryport 10-67, Whitehaven A 8-51, Workington B 7-42, Workington A 7-39, Vulcan Park 9-38, Seascale 8-37, Cleator Moor 8-36, Croft 9-34, Egremont 9-33, Harris Park A 9-33, Seaton 8-31, Harris Park B 9-30, Wigton 6-29, Whitehaven B 9-22.

In the West Cumbria Fours League sponsored by Whitehaven Trophies results from July 25 were: Workington B 2, Seaton 5; Whitehaven A 3, Workington A 4; Vulcan Park 5, Whitehaven B 2; Maryport 3, Cleator moor 4.

League standings (Games played and points)  Workington A 10-59, Whitehaven A 12-59, Cleator Moor 11-48, Fitz Park 11-44, Seaton 12-40, Maryport 12-37, Workington B 11-26, Vulcan Park 12-24, Whitehaven B 11-20.
