Workington Reds boss Billy Barr has reforged a friendship with former Carlisle United striker Andy Preece.
The 59-year-old Preece is manager at Chorley. His assistant has put on a showcase event where young players have the opportunity to show off their skills to interested managers.
Billy watched a couple of training sessions and then the actual showcase event in which one or two players stood out for him.
On Saturday he watched a game between Longridge and Chorley in which four of the players involved in the showcase session were on show.
