A Lake District guest house is on the market for £795,000.

Scales Farm Country Guest House, near Keswick, is being sold via specialist business property adviser Christie & Co.

The house is on the market as the owners, Ivan and Helen, have decided to step back from running the business after 13 years at the helm.

Ivan and Helen said: “Scales Farm Country Guest House has been our home for the last 13 years, and during this time, we have been delighted to see the business grow from strength to strength.

“We have completely refurbished the property and built a strong and reliable business, based on new and returning guests, the fantastic location, the quality of the accommodation, generates the excellent reviews we receive.

“We have thoroughly enjoyed our time at Scales Farm but now it is time for us to retire and to pass the business on to new owners.”

It has six guest rooms, as well as self-contained three-bedroom owners’ accommodation.

Graham Wilkinson, agent at Christie & Co, added: “Scales Farm Country Guest House is a great opportunity for a new owner.

“The location makes it a popular choice for guests wanting to explore the great outdoors, either on foot or by bike.

“The current owners are also seeking to extend the planning permission to include holiday letting, to offer flexibility to a potential new owner to either continue with the existing business model of to develop the business further in the self-catering sector.”
