
An 18-year-old man has died following a collision near Hesket Newmarket.
Police were contacted around 7pm on Saturday, August 9, following a one-vehicle collision on the C2049, near Hesket Newmarket.
The collision involved a red Vauxhall Astra. The passenger, an 18-year-old man from Carlisle, died at the scene.
A driver, also an 18-year-old man from Carlisle, was airlifted to hospital. His condition is described as serious but stable.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information which man help officer is asked to contact police.

The 18-year-old passenger has been named as James Walker and his family has paid tribute to him.
