A Cumbrian-based website, dedicated to inspiring youngsters to get on their bikes, has been nominated for a prestigious award.

Cycle Sprog has been shortlisted for the Cycling Media of the Year award at the 2025 BikeBiz Awards.

Based in Kendal and with an international audience, Cycle Sprog is about inspiring the next generation to get on their bikes.

Set up in 2012, the website offers advice, reviews, inspiring family cycling stories, and practical tips for parents – whether they’re starting with a baby in a trailer, choosing a first pedal bike, or tackling family rides together.

The Cycling Media of the Year category celebrates UK-based platforms that consistently deliver exceptional content, engage their audiences, influence the cycling industry, and innovate across multiple media channels.

Founder Karen Gee said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be recognised on a national stage for the work we do here in Kendal.

“Everything we write is aimed at getting more kids – from babies through to teenagers – discovering the fun, freedom, and confidence that comes from being on a bike.

“Being shortlisted for this award shows that our mission to inspire the next generation is making an impact.”

People can vote for Cycle Sprog at https://bikebizawards.com/vote/

Voting closes at midnight on August 29.
