A charity for domestic abuse survivors in South Cumbria has been given pyjamas and teddy bears by Freemasons.
Kate Wilson, the wife of the head of Cumberland and Westmorland Freemasons Nick, visited Springfield Domestic Abuse Services with the donation to support children affected by domestic abuse.
Springfield, which has served South Lakeland since 1915, provides refuge and community-based support for individuals escaping abusive environments.
Its services offer shelter, safety, and a pathway to recovery for women, children, and men whose lives have been impacted by domestic violence.
Neil Dixon, of Cumbria Freemasons, said: “It’s impossible to overstate the trauma children face when fleeing an abusive home, We hope these teddy bears and pyjamas offer a small measure of comfort and security during such a frightening time.”
A Springfield spokesman said: “These gifts help restore a sense of normalcy and care. They remind children that they are safe, seen, and supported.”
This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Freemasons to engage with and support local charities making a difference in their communities.
