A new church for Carlisle has been launched.
Around 60 people gathered at the Halston hotel for the launch of Oasis Church.
Oasis Church is part of the Assemblies of God, one of the the fastest growing Church denominations in the UK.
It is led by Sandy Jamieson-Barr, an ordained minister with the organisation who has led over five similar churches in Scotland.
He said “It was an absolute privilege to come to Carlisle and be a part of this historic event. Carlisle has had an amazing church history and Christian heritage and it is wonderful to be a part of that and serve the city along side its many different and varied church leaders.”
Oasis Church meets monthly in the Halston hotel and weekly around the city in pop-up Bible studies in coffee shops.
The next meeting is in the Halston on Warwick Road at 7pm on August 26.
