A very special match will be played at Cockermouth’s Sandair ground on Sunday.
The Ken White Memorial match celebrates one of the finest servants of the club – and one of the great characters of the local game.
Ken, who died last year at the age of 82, scored over 25,000 runs for the club over the course of his Cockermouth career, which covered six decades.
Sunday’s game, which gets underway at 3pm, is between the Captain’s X1 and the Chairman’s X1.
Ken’s son Gareth has been chairman since 2018 while the skipper is Matty Sempill.

Gareth said: “Hopefully the weather will stay good and it will be a good day of cricket.
“A couple of dad’s old team mates Andy Sealby and Steve Chambers are playing and they will be mixed teams involving our first, second and third teams.
“A raffle is being organised with proceeds to Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team.”
