A raven which has been part of the life of a woman in South Cumbria for nearly three years has gone missing.
Jane Halliday, of Flookburgh, has looked after Syd since he was 15 days old.
The rescue raven was born in captivity and has enjoyed life in a bespoke aviary built in his owner’s garden.
However, earlier this week while he was being exercised, a loud noise spooked the distinctive foot tall ringed bird and he made off.

Jane said: “He’s not likely to have gone far, is ringed and registered and was born in captivity so won’t be as wary of danger as a wild bird.”
Syd’s favourite snack are cat treats Dreamies and Jane has left a supply close to the vicarage on Boarbank Lane in the hope walkers will take them should they see him.

“The longer time passes, the more we are becoming worried for him,” Jane added.
