Recycling collections in Barrow have been cancelled due to staffing issues.
Westmorland and Furness Council has apologised to people in Barrow Central, Hindpool and Roose after their recycling was due to be collected on Thursday, August 21.
Some have reported that their recycling has not been collected in these areas for around four weeks now.
People in these areas are now being asked to take in their recycling and to put it out for collection on their next scheduled day – along with any extra placed in bags.
A spokesman said: “We’re sorry to those customers who were expecting their recycling to be collected in Barrow Central, Hindpool and Roose.
“Unfortunately these rounds had to be cancelled due to staffing issues. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause, especially when so many of our customers will have children at home during the school summer holidays.
“Thanks very much for your patience with our crews and for bearing with us.”
