
Former steeplechase champion Kemboy will make a guest appearance at Holker Hall this weekend.
The Cartmel Racecourse ambassador will be at the hall from 2pm to 3pm tomorrow, Sunday, August 24, following his attendance at the blessing of the horse ceremony at Cartmel Priory at noon.
His appearance is to celebrate National Racehorse Week.
Kemboy, renowned for his tenacity and elegance over fences, captured the hearts of National Hunt racing fans across the UK with a series of memorable performances during his career.
Now enjoying a well-earned retirement, he continues to charm with his gentle yet spirited nature.
Visitors to Holker Hall will have the chance to see him up close, hear about his greatest moments on the track, and learn more about his life after racing.
His handlers will be on hand to share insights into his training, his character, and the care and attention that has shaped his life both during and after his time in competition.
Trained in Ireland by Willie Mullins, he claimed a string of major victories including the Savills Chase at Leopardstown and the Punchestown Gold Cup, where he famously defeated Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Al Boum Photo and multiple Grade One winner Clan Des Obeaux.
He also triumphed in the Betway Bowl at Aintree, getting the better of popular British stars such as Bristol De Mai, and proved himself a consistent performer at the very highest level, amassing more than £1 million in prize money.
Kemboy was ridden in some of his biggest victories by legendary jockey Ruby Walsh and later by Irish champion Jockey Paul Townend.
