Bank Holiday Monday saw Uldale supporters hold a four-grade meeting where 32 hounds turned out.

The seniors had five runners and Sportsman for Willie and Craig Mark was sent off as favourite.

The hounds can be seen going through a field towards the narrows and the group of five were racing well together with Sportsman and Silver Dream for Darren and Julie McMaster and Anthony Skelton battling it out at the front.

As they hit the narrows Silver Dream was at the front ahead of Sportsman with Millie’s Lass and Millie’s Lad for George McGimpsy, and Gillian and Millie Telford in third and fourth.

The hounds can be seen climbing up the fell and are hard to make out due to how far away they are and the sun directly shining onto them.

They can then be seen going through the fell before they appear on to the finish. Sportsman and Silver Dream had stolen a march with both hounds swapping the lead and pushing each other on well.

As they showed on the finish both hounds were neck-and-neck and it was a great battle to the line with neither hound giving up.

In the end Silver Dream put in an extra push to claim her 22nd senior win of the season by half a length from Sportsman. Millie’s Lass finished in third with Millie’s Lad in fourth.

The Senior Maidens had a field of 10, with Thorn Heart for Colin Satterthwaite sent off as favourite.

Reports came in from the narrows and leading the way was Foxparke Whoosh for Robyn, Ellie, Grace and Nicola Napier and Brooke Butler with Sir Robert in second for Malcolm Holmes and Thorn Heart in third.

As they climbed up the fell the same three hounds were leading the way but had been joined by Senorita, another for Malcolm Holmes.

When they showed going through the fell before appearing on the finish Chapel Stile for Ian Fleet and Jayne Peterson was leading the way from Thorn Heart, Senorita, Foxparke Whoosh and Sir Robert.

On the finish Chapel Stile came on and claimed the win by a length from Senorita with Thorn Heart in third. Foxparke Whoosh was fourth and Castle Callant for Marti Irving and Amy Borrowick was in fifth.

The final ticket went to Lucky Legend for Lisa and Holly Whitefield.

The Pups race had seven runners but unfortunately the race was declared void due to unexpected circumstances.

The final trail of the day was for the Puppy Maidens with a field of 10 taking part.

Foxparke Cheese and Beans for Robyn, Ellie, Grace and Nicola Napier, Brooke Butler and Glenis Farren was sent off as favourite.

As the hounds climbed up the fell Affirmation for Andrew Bulman, Laura Steele, and Gary Woodend was leading the way from a good line of hounds.

When they were seen going through the fell Affirmation was leading the way from litter mate Sullivan’s Mist for Gary Woodend with Foxparke Cheese and Beans in third and TikTok for Anna and Kerry Lindsay and Janie McAulay lying fourth.

As they appeared onto the finish Sullivan’s Mist showed a good turn of foot to claim the win by four lengths from litter mate (Overwater Gemini/Overwater Louie) Affirmation.

Chapel Lad for Ian Fleet and Jayne Peterson finished in third and the favourite Foxparke Cheese and Beans eventually crossed the line for fourth. TikTok finished in fifth.
