Furness aim to wrap up Premier Division title

Furness will aim to wrap up the Cumbria League’s Premier Division title tomorrow.

Its top versus second, and with the last fixtures next Saturday, a win for the south Cumbrians against Keswick will see them over the line.

Even with a defeat they could still pick-up enough points to keep them in front as they currently lead the Lakes side by eight points.

It won’t have escaped the notice of both teams that Keswick have the decidedly tougher final game.

For while Furness travel to out-of-sorts Cleator, Keswick have third-placed and local rivals Cockermouth as their visitors.

Cockermouth entertain Dalton tomorrow but start the day 12 points behind Furness and four in arrears of Keswick.

Egremont have been confirmed as finishing bottom but will hope to round off their home programme with a win against Cleator.

Millom v Whitehaven is essentially about which of them finishes in fourth place behind the big three.

Workington v Wigton completes tomorrow’s programme.
