Allotments in Kendal have been improved after paths were becoming difficult to use.
Poor weather and steep areas of the Town View allotments, next to Nobles Rest Park, meant the site was becoming more inaccessible for allotment holders.
Kendal Town Council has created steps, improved paths and installed handrails to make the site easier to use.
Councillor Alvin Finch, chair of the allotment committee, said: “Allotments are a key part of the community, providing many benefits to individuals as well as significant green spaces in Kendal.
“The site is very popular, and we’re pleased to make improvements to ensure it remains safe and accessible, especially during the winter months.”

Kendal Town Council redistributed all the green waste back onto the allotment site. It thanked plot holders who helped in clearing one of the vacant plots before the work could take place.
