A home delivery driver for supermarket Asda sprang into action after he found a customer lying on the floor.
The chain has posted on its national Facebook page about Chris, who works at the Workington store.
It said: “He found one of his regular older customers lying on the floor of her home after banging her head in a fall.
“The lady looked groggy and Chris thought she may be concussed, so he immediately called 999 for an ambulance.
“He stayed with her until medics arrived at the house in Whitehaven. A neighbour came to help too.
“After she was taken by ambulance to West Cumberland Hospital, Chris put all her shopping away before continuing with his deliveries.”
Chris said: “I’m just pleased that I was there when she needed help. If she was there much longer on her own I wouldn’t like to think what could have happened.
“We have a lot of elderly customers on our rounds and sometimes we are the only people they see all day or even all week. I’m just glad she’s okay now.”
