
Tom Dawson has returned to Holker Old Boys after spending the last two months with Workington Reds.
The striker marked his return by scoring both goals which gave Holker the 2-0 win at home to Ashton Athletic.
Dawson, who was used by Reds as a substitute in a handful of games, struck in the 38th and 63rd minutes.
He had been unable to commit to travelling from Barrow with taking a new job.
In the West Lancashire League there were defeats for three Cumbrian clubs but bottom side Milnthorpe Corinthians were celebrating as they put their first points of the season on board with a 3-0 home win over Coppull United.
All the goals came in the second half with Regan Hartigan netting on 55 and 65 minutes while Coppull conceded a late own goal.
Biggest surprise was Millom’s 7-1 defeat at Lostock St Gerard’s.
Although a rough time might have been anticipated as the South Cumbrians had a good number of players attending a wedding.
It had been underlined in the fixture list for some time.
Jordan Brumby scored Millom’s consolation in the last minute after Lostock had built well on their 2-0 half-time lead.
A missed penalty and other spurned opportunities clost Cleator Moor Celtic as they went down 1-0 at CMB.
TYhey had played particularly well in the first 25 minutes but the best opportunities came in the second half after the hosts had taken the lread on 72 minutes through Benji Lilley.
Celtic are certainly competing well enough but missing chances has deprived them of several points.
Whitehaven can’t seem to hold a lead at the moment, losing 3-1 at Blackpool Wren Rovers after Owen Wodburn had put them ahead three minutes before half-time.
Rovers levelled on 52 minutes through Danny Fletcher and won it with a Ric Seear penalty after 71 minutes and a third from Frankie Simmons three minutes from the end.
