A Lake District walker was injured after slipping while descending Catbells.
The female walker was climbing down Catbells with her sister when she slipped on a steep section and hit her face on the rocky slope, sliding a short distance.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team and the Great North Air Ambulance were called to the incident yesterday, Sunday September 7, at around 12.05pm.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said: “The Great North Air Ambulance were quickly on scene, landing just along the ridge, and assessed the woman.
“Fortunately her injuries, while looking bad and undoubtedly painful, were superficial and she was deemed well enough to walk down with assistance from rescue team members.
“Once at the bottom the woman was taken to hospital by her sister.”
