
A man has been arrested following a report of a man travelling with an alleged firearm in West Cumbria.
Police were called out at around 10am this morning, Wednesday September 10, to the incident in Workington.
It was reported to police that the individual was travelling into the area with an alleged firearm.
A 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.
Firearms officers were deployed as a precaution and no firearm was located.
Cumbria Police said people may see an increased police presence in the area. It added there is no wider risk to the public.
